The arrival of December’s frostier weather also heralds the warmth and comfort of a favorite celebratory Jewish holiday, Hannukah. While we’re enjoying the glow of the menorah’s lights, many are salivating over the foods and recipes intrinsic to this delectable annual celebration. Hannukah recipes include traditional takes on crispy latkes (authentic potato pancakes) to sufganiyot (jelly donuts), but adventurous chefs will find creative Hannukah recipe renditions… such as substituting various vegetables into latkes (sorry, potato!) or experimenting with novel fillings and frostings for sufganiyot, deep-fried donuts (caramel or chocolate) to suit any sweet-craving taste bud.
