Instead of buying fancy store-bought Chanukah presents this year for your family and loved ones, spoil them with a delicious edible gift instead! There’s nothing better than a homemade treat to show that you care and with the right recipe, you will even impress your pickiest foodie friends. When the recipe is simply to combine a bunch of ingredients in a crock pot and let it cook for a couple of hours, you know you’ve found something great. And the combination of cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, cloves, ginger and orange zest will fill your house with the classic aromas of the winter season. Might I recommend making a double batch of these candied pecans and saving some for yourself!
Crock Pot Candied Pecans
5 cups pecan halves
1 egg white
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp orange zest
1/4 cup water

1. Combine all ingredients in a crock pot and stir to combine.
2. Set crock pot on low for 4 hours, stirring occasionally.
3. Pour cooked nuts on to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and set aside to cool and harden for 30 minutes.
Note: These candied pecans freeze very well for up to 6 months in an airtight container.
