Ingredients

1 cup granulated sugar


1-cup water


1 vanilla bean, such as Bakto Vanilla Bean

Directions

Add sugar and water to a saucepan, and heat gently until sugar has dissolved.


Scrape the seeds out of a vanilla bean, and add to the saucepan. Add the rest of the vanilla bean as well. Remove from heat and let steep for 20-30 minutes. Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth, Let cool, bottle, and refrigerate for up to one month.
