I came home from Amazing Savings shortly before Purim a couple of years ago with two random containers that had too much personality to pass up. These two containers “found” each other on the way home, as one was magnetic. Emptying the bags at home, my daughter picked up the containers and exclaimed, “Hey, this looks like a camera!” And so my camera theme “developed.” I realized that I didn’t need anything “flashy” to “frame” this idea, as a number of popular candy bars such as Klik and Smirk were a perfect fit. Add these “cheese” cookies (recipe included), and you’re on your way to a “picture-perfect” mishloach manos!
You will need:
flat rectangular tin can
round magnetic spice can
12 inches (30 cm) of 3/8-inch ribbon
square silver boxes (I used a 5x5x3-inch / 13x13x8-cm box)
7/8-inch ribbon
tissue paper
Klik and/or Smirk bars
plastic key chain (optional)
“Say cheese” label
11x17-inch (28x43-cm) cellophane bag
1. Place the two cans together to form your camera. Create a “camera strap” by taping the two ends of the 3/8-inch ribbon into the rectangular box.
2. Line the silver boxes with tissue paper and arrange cheese cookies inside (to keep the cookies fresh, place in a cellophane bag). Wrap box with the 7/8-inch ribbon and “Say cheese” label.
3. Place “camera” on top of the box and wrap in cellophane bag. For a finishing touch, attach key chain to the ribbon when wrapping.
