Succos is behind us and we all have some esrogim lying around. It was used for a mitzva and so we are loath to discard these precious fruits! It is well known that esrogim are a segulah for easy birth. Some women bite off the pitom- pistil (the top little stick) close to their due date, while others have a spoon of this conserve to expedite the birth process. Others simply enjoy knowing that their esrogim did not go to waste. These variations are all delicious and in spite of their time consuming labor it is worthwhile to try. My grandchildren love watching their mother make the esrog jelly for the sake of tradition. So here are a few ideas of what to do with esrogim after Succos and enjoy the Esrog adventure!
