We have to put out bread at a Melaveh Malkah. Sometimes it’s the last thing we thing of, and sometimes we spend tons of time on it making mini onion rolls or garlic knots. With this recipe, you’re buying a loaf of bread and putting in your own filling, so it automatically becomes yours without all the work! Do NOT make this if you are watching your carbs. It’s dangerous!
- loaf bread - 1, medium sized (baguette, artisan bread, or even water challah)
- butter - 2 tbsp (or olive oil)
- parsley flakes - 1/2 tsp
- shredded cheese - 1/2 cup (I use shredded cheddar)
- garlic - 2 cloves (or 2 cubes frozen crushed)
- salt - to taste
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Slice the loaf of bread almost to the bottom, not all the way through. Mix the remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Spread into the slices. Make sure to cover as much as you can with butter.
Place in an aluminum pan and bake for 15–20 minutes.
