This recipe is convenient for all year round as it uses canned fruit, as opposed to fresh.
- pitted cherries with juice - 1 jar (24 oz / 680 gram)
- water - 2 cups , divided
- sugar - 1/3 cup
- vanilla pudding - 1 pkg (3 oz / 85 gram)
- canned peach halves - 3 medium , cut into small pieces
- frozen strawberries - 1/2 bag (8 oz / 225 gram)
Place cherries, 1 cup water, and sugar in a medium-sized pot. Bring to a boil. Lower flame. Remove a few spoonfuls of the hot liquid and quickly dissolve the pudding into it, stirring constantly. Return to pot and continue stirring for 3–5 minutes, or until pudding is thoroughly dissolved. Remove from flame. Add peaches, strawberries, and remaining 1 cup water. Mix gently and cover pot. Allow to cool and then refrigerate. Serve chilled in small glasses or bowls.
