The key ingredients here are lettuce, avocado, candied nuts, and fruit, so feel free to use whatever fruit you have on hand.
- romaine lettuce - 1 head , shredded
- avocado - 1 , peeled and cubed
- star fruit - 1 , sliced
- almonds - handful candied
- canola oil - 1/2 cup
- red wine vinegar - 1/4 cup
- mustard powder - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
Arrange lettuce, avocado, fruit, and nuts in Â a large salad bowl. Combine dressing ingredients and pour over salad immediately before
To make your own candied almonds, place Â 1/2 cup sugar and 3 1/2 oz (100Â g) almonds Â in a large frying pan over medium heat. do Â not spray the pan with cooking spray! stir Â constantly until the sugar is caramelized Â and almonds are evenly coated, about 6 Â minutes. Transfer to parchment paper and allow to cool.
