The Blood & Sand cocktail, a 1930
- 1 part Cherry Heering Liqueur -
- 1 part Scotch -
- 1 part Sweet Vermouth -
- 1 part orange juice -
1. Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing glass and shake with ice.
2. Strain out into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange peel before serving.
Kitchen Tip: When mixing drinks, “part” refers to the proportion. If the recipe calls for 1 part liqueur and 2 parts orange juice, then there would be twice as much juice as liqueur. It’s up to you to decide how much beverage you want to make; the “part” tells you the ratios you’re working with.
