So this is what I am busy with. I have been icing cookies until can’t see anymore, and while I love the creative challenge, I will be one happy person when Purim is over. I have had some pretty weird requests from clients over the years, but generally I enjoy getting involved in the different themes and ideas people come up with. These cookies are just a small sample of what I have made for this year.
One day, when I have more time, I will describe the whole creative process, but for now, I need to find my dining room table, so I will give you a quick, never-fail cookie dough recipe, so you can do your own creative things…no time to talk….happy purim.
Basic Sugar Cookie Dough
2 sticks margarine
2/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1. Cream margarine and sugar. Add remainder of ingredients and mix until dough forms.
2. Form dough into a ball, wrap with saran wrap and refridgerate for minimum 1 hour or overnight.
3. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut to desired shapes and bake until edges are light brown, approximatly 10 minutes.
